Akela Stanfield is a learning architect , travel blogger, and cultural critic in Chicago, IL. Originally from Hampton, VA ; she loves seafood, the south, and large bodies of water. Her love of aesthetics led her to slight addiction Chloe and Yves St. Laurent addictions…while her love for darker humanity spurs her graduate research of Black College students and their impact on Black Culture.
Akela has over eight years of experience in the education field. She manages her consulting firm Kuzie Curriculum Design; successfully designing comprehensive, culturally relevant, and creative curriculum for parochial schools,private schools, publishing houses, and research consortium that serve students in the greater mid-west area. Her firm also produces educational film and corporate training media.
Akela holds a M.A. in Cultural and Educational Policy Studies from Loyola University Chicago and a B.A. in English and Composition from Spelman College. She lives in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.
